Laser Body Reshaping – Buttocks

For women, in particular, the buttock area can be their number one 'pet hate' when it comes to body issues, as they dream of a completely different buttock size and/or shape to the one they currently have.

The ageing process, changes in body weight and pregnancy, can all affect this area, causing volume to be lost high on the curve of the buttocks, fat to migrate to the thighs in the form of 'saddle bags', the marked shape under the buttocks to become lost and for the overlying skin to become saggy and marked by cellulite. Cultural assumptions can also come into play as different cultures favour different shapes.

Reshaping the buttock area has traditionally been a challenge to plastic surgeons as it is a tricky area to operate on and also both the overlying skin and volume of the buttocks often have to be taken into account to achieve the desired result.

Although there are a number of treatment options available for reshaping the buttocks, including liposuction, fat transfer or surgical excision, they all have some drawbacks and Mr Hassan Shaaban has increasingly found that Laser Body Reshaping to the buttocks produce the desired results without many of the associated drawbacks.

Liposuction can remove excess fat, but can often leave a less than desirable contour. With Laser Body Reshaping, Mr Hassan Shaaban is able to sculpt the area to produce the most aesthetically-pleasing shape possible. If there is a large degree of excess skin, then surgery may be the best option and as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon with many years of cosmetic surgery experience Mr Hassan Shaaban will be able to advise you if that is the case. However, one drawback of surgery to the buttocks is the scarring and so, if there is a lesser degree of skin elasticity, then Mr Shaaban is able to affect a degree of skin tightening with Laser Body Reshaping.

Improving the appearance of the overlying skin is often a consideration as well. The laser energy stimulates the production of collagen so, over time, the appearance of the skin will improve. Furthermore, Mr Hassan Shaaban is able to combine this procedure with Cellulaze, the only surgical solution to cellulite, which can transform the appearance of the buttocks.

During the Laser Body Reshaping procedure, Mr Hassan Shaaban will make a few incisions in the treatment area to inject the local anaesthetic solution. Through these incisions he then inserts the laser probe and delivers the laser energy into the excess fat tissue. This liquefied fat is then removed as Mr Shaaban sculpts the area. At the same time the laser energy is directed into the skin as well to produce the skin tightening. Cellulite reduction is then performed if necessary.

With the constant breakthroughs of laser technology, Mr Hassan Shaaban has been able to introduce innovative new techniques to treat a wide range of common aesthetic problems.
