Laser Body Reshaping – Flanks
The accumulation of fat on the flanks, often called the 'love handles', is a problem for both men and women as they age. Laser Body Reshaping has become an increasingly precise tool in the hands of a skilled plastic surgeon such as Liverpool Laser Clinic's Mr Hassan Shaaban, allowing him to create a more aesthetically-pleasing shape to the flank area. Women commonly wish to achieve the dip in the waist to create the desired hourglass shape, whereas men will want to attain the classic 'V' shape to the torso.
If there is a large degree of excess skin then you may benefit from more traditional surgical procedure to remove this, but Mr Hassan Shaaban will carefully assess you during the consultation before advising you on the most appropriate procedure for you. If there is only a small amount of excess skin, then you may benefit from Laser Body Reshaping, a procedure that is able to achieve a degree of skin tightening and avoids the scarring that accompanies traditional surgery.
The procedure is performed under a local anaesthetic as a walk in-walk out procedure. Mr Hassan Shaaban will carefully mark up the area as a guide to what the patient wishes to achieve, before the treatment area is numbed with local anaesthetic. This is injected through a two to three small incisions and the laser probe is then inserted through the same small incisions, ensuring that there is little or no obvious scarring post-procedure.
The laser energy is directed into the excess fat, liquefying it, before Mr Hassan Shaaban suctions it out. It is at this point that he carries out the careful body sculpting. After the procedure, he advises patients to wear a compression garment for a few weeks to help ensure the best result possible.
A shapely body contour can be achieved through body sculpting key areas such as the flanks and Laser Body Reshaping can produce great results with few of the drawbacks of other procedures.
