Laser Body Reshaping – Neck
We are increasingly aware of aesthetic treatments to help reverse the signs of ageing on the face, but the neck can be just as much of an ageing giveaway and, in the past, has been a more difficult area to treat.
There are two main problems with the appearance of the neck and men and women can often suffer from both in combination.
As the muscles and overlying skin start to sag, it can produce a 'turkey neck' where the taut definition that you had in the neck area when you were younger is lost. Also, as we age, fat can accumulate in the neck area, either just under the chin or even along the whole neck. Even relatively slim men and women can have this problem.
There are surgical options to treat the neck, but the major drawback to surgery has always been the scarring; the neck is a highly visible area, with very thin skin, so it can more challenging for plastic surgeons to produce a result that fulfils the expectations of their patients.
Consultant Plastic Surgeon and Laser Specialist Mr Hassan Shaaban has been behind the introduction of many innovative laser breakthroughs and with the Laser Neck Lift, he is able to achieve a transformation of the neck area without some of the drawbacks of surgery.
The Precision Tx was launched by Mr Hassan Shaaban in the UK in 2012; this device uses laser energy to remove the superficial fat that has accumulated along the neck and jawline and, at the same time, produce a degree of skin tightening. Unlike traditional liposuction which targets the deeper layers of fat, the Precision Tx is able to work in delicate areas such as the neck and achieve a smooth, subtle contour. Furthermore, the laser energy also stimulates collagen production, so in the months post-procedure the patient will see a continuing improvement in the appearance of the neck.
Recovery and downtime is also much improved with the Laser Neck Lift as it is performed under a local anaesthetic. Mr Hassan Shaaban makes two or three tiny incisions in which he injects the local anaesthetic solution and then he utilises those incisions to insert the laser probe. After the procedure, those tiny incisions heal very quickly and the patient is left with little evidence of the procedure, bar the results.
As a highly experienced and qualified plastic surgeon, Mr Hassan Shaaban is able to evaluate each patient carefully and then offer them the most appropriate treatment option for them. However, for an increasing number of patients, the Laser Neck Lift represents a compelling choice.
