Male Breast Reduction
Increasingly, men of any age are seeking help for the appearance of enlarged male breasts that are causing them distress, embarrassment or discomfort in social situations.
The enlargement of male breasts, can be caused by two separate conditions, either as a result of an increase in male breast tissue, commonly caused by hormonal problems, or as an excess of soft fat tissue. Both can cause the skin to stretch which compounds the problem. The first step is for your plastic surgeon to evaluate exactly what is causing the problem as that will determine which treatment option is best for you.
If you have an excess of breast tissue, with or without accompanying stretching of the skin, you will typically need a surgical male breast reduction. However, if the issue is an excess of fatty tissue then treatment has traditionally been liposuction. Now, with the introduction of Laser Body Reshaping, there is a procedure that can provides more effective results with even less downtime and associated problems.
The laser energy is able to target more superficial fat layers than traditional liposuction so it is particularly suited to the chest area and, because the fat is liquefied before it is removed, it allows a skilled laser specialist to achieve a much smoother contour. Some skin tightening is achieved as well at the same time.
Laser Body Reshaping also means less scarring, bruising and swelling, so the recovery process is much reduced. This is a true walk in-walk out procedure as it is performed under a local anaesthetic.
Mr Hassan Shaaban first numbs the area with a local anaesthetic injected through small incisions in the treatment area and then, through those same incisions, the laser probe is inserted and the laser energy is directed at the fatty tissue before it is removed. Compression garments should be worn post-procedure to produce the best results.
Laser Body Reshaping is providing skilled practitioners such as Mr Hassan Shaaban a highly effective treatment option for a wide range of aesthetic conditions.
